We have recently dealt with a company moving into a new unit that’s been built for years but never had a tenant, the unit’s a little of the beaten track and has a canal nearby. what’s probably put potential tenants off is there is a scrap yard opposite.
The first thing we agreed was a Grade 2 Intruder alarm with Grade 4 signalling, Click did the risk assessment with the client and we agreed the Grade 2 contacts would suit the roller shutters better. The system can be upgraded to a Grade 3 in the future by changing the contacts only if ever required
The next problem was controlling the front door, the business doesn’t really have a reception and staff work around the building, We again looked at the risk and it was clear the door needed to be protected, we looked at the options of a Videx GSM door station, The eventual solution was a single button Videx Call station to 4 handsets around the building, an ACT 10 keypad was installed to allow the staff access through a code.
The external area front car park and yard was a major concern, the company works long hours and employees cars and vans are left at the building out of hours. We again evaluated the options and came up with a Hikvision solution, 4 No 4MP external static domes externally and 4 internally. The external cameras are monitored on the DVR by the trip wire on the unit, this is set across the yard, If this is activated it sends and email to the client and sends a push alarm to the App on his phone and Tablet. It’s an intelligent motion detection, it’s definitely not analytics and it’s not suitable for every environment, it does work in this situation
The system is working and fit for purpose, enhancements can be made in the future if the situation changes, the CCTV can be monitored and speakers installed if required
